“My website went down the other day. I lost so much money because I couldn’t find my accout info. I had to chat with godaddy about it for over an hour but i don’t have time for this while trying to run my restaurant.”

– frustrated from California

Hi frustrated, if I had a nickel for every time I heard that a business owner couldn’t find vital information for their website, social media accounts, etc, I’d be as wealthy as Warren Buffet. You are certainly not alone and the good news is that there is an extremely easy fix for this:

1.) Create an account on 1Password. The basic plan is $2.99 a month. Nothing is free and this is worth every single penny. If you’re having a hard time with the price, just ask yourself is going through this headache worth it or is a Starbucks coffee worth more.

2.) Add all of your accounts to this application. Every single thing from usernames and passwords, to the 4 digit PIN number for GoDaddy support.

You have to start taking vendors seriously. Create a Notion account and use it to store vendor information. Do NOT put any passwords in here.

That’s all there is to it. It’s not difficult to keep your information in one spot and easy to locate. All it takes is a few hours to organize all of your data and it will save you days worth of headaches.

-Joe
